Hey,

The interface functionality you are suggesting about Compact Mode, is actually already there 🙂
You just need to hold down the “S” keyboard key while hovering over nodes and it will work prety much the same way as your gif!

Vertical flow may at first glance seem cool, but I strongly believe that it is not really much usefull, considering that in a lot of cases you will want to connect a value output of a node to a value input and that will make up for some weird connections.

There is no Discord channel at the moment, but due to popular demand, I plan to open up one, once v3 is released 🙂
