Yeah it is useful in certain situations, i.e in FinalIK you have a Transform and a TransformAxis, and I can see some people who are not as familiar not knowing the difference between each.

Personally I find that if the description of the task and the variable names are succinct then the overall intent of the variables is clear, but in some niche situations it is not as clear as it would be with tooltips etc.
