Hello,
I was wondering if there was a legend for icons appearing in the Editor. I got a yellow little triangle on some of my nodes and I can’t find anywhere what they mean.
I tried looking into the doc and could not find anything and there is no tooltips.
That is very weird issue. These icons should NOT show in edit time.
Did you possibly exported or saved a graph while in play mode and then loaded this back? That would be a starting point to figure this out.
Almost two months later, I finally got time to check it out. I’m really sorry for the late reply myself. I got quite busy with out previous project.
Since it’s been a while, I do not remember if I exported the graph while in play mode, but that could definitely be a possibility. I’m going to investigate a bit and start a new Dialogue Tree from scratch to see.
On a side note, is there a way to get notified by email when a reply is posted on the forum?
Unfortunately, I have some work to do on our previous game and I won’t be able to check this out before a few days. I will keep you posted once I know more.
I just checked out how to reproduce the icon display. Basically, I just add a condition, set it to Check Property and I get a yellow triangle, even after I set up the condition correctly and link it to another node. The dialogue works normally.
Oooohh 🙂
It was a good think to post the screen, since I had something totaly different in mind. Thanks.
Well this is just a warning (not an error) in case something in the action or condition is *maybe* not set correctly.
In this case, the warning shows up because the condition needs a Transform (shown in red in the inspector “Use Self(Transform)” ).
But since you feed the Instigator at runtime, there is actually no problem here. A transform is found in runtime. That’s also the reason why in runtime, and after this node is executed this warning icon does not show anymore.
So, once again, this is just a warning. not an error 🙂
Thank you for your explications. Since I’m just starting to use NC, I wanted to be sure that I’m doing things correctly before getting more complicated trees 😛
