You mentioned recently that there is going to be NodeCanvas 2. So, how does this work? Is it going to be an update to the current NodeCanvas, or is it going to be another product on the asset store?
I’m using now the latest NodeCanvas and I’ve got some big problems. So I was wondering if I just should wait a bit until a new version is out, that may resolve those issues, or already post a bug report?
Yes, there is going to be a NC version 2 very soon. There are some many new stuff there, a whole lot of improvement and of course fixes. If Unity asset store would allow some sort of a discount for updates I would go that way due to the whole lot of extra work done, but since it doesnt, I decided to keep it the same asset package. So it’s a totaly free update 🙂
The downside is that it’s not backwards compatible, so in other words you will not be able to update a project from 1.6 to 2.0. I really tried to make it possible, but alas, it’s impossible due to the differences.
If you are about to start a new project I would really suggest that you wait for the new version just a bit 🙂
For all purposes, I will still support previous versions and provide fixes as long as needed.
I would be interested to know what kind of issues you encountered with current version though.
